What is Coaching?

Coaching offers you the opportunity to create what it is that you want in your life. Coaching unlocks your potential, & supports you while you maximize your performance, & achieve your goals. Coaching gets you to where you want to go.

What Do I Work On With a Coach?

Coaches focus where their clients need them the most. The client & coach might work on:

  • Business planning, budgeting & goal-setting
  • Integrating business and personal life for balance
  • Taking a project to completion
  • Handling business or personal problems
  • Making key decisions and designing strategies
  • Prioritizing actions and priorities
  • Catching up and getting ahead of the business
  • Training developing & managing staff
  • Increasing sales substantially or building a practice
  • Career development or transition

Coaches:

  • Help people to set better goals and then reach these goals
  • Ask their clients to do more than they would have done on their own
  • Provide clients with the tools, support and structure to accomplish more

A Personal Coach does just what an athletic coach or a music teacher does, only in a more complete or bigger way. A coach challenges you and takes the time to find out what winning in life means to you. A coach is your partner in living the life you know you can accomplish, personally and professionally. A coach is someone to hold you accountable for your life, to ensure that you maximize your opportunities and live up to your potential.

What is Coaching?

Synergy:  Client & coach become a team, focusing on the client's goals & needs..  Synergy between the coach & client creates a momentum.  What's most important is accomplished.

Structure: With a coach, a client takes more actions, thinks bigger and gets the job done, thanks to the accountability & structure the coach provides.  Better goals are set this creates alignment & a more effortless process.  Coaching shifts the process of winning into a fun yet effective journey.

Expertise: The coach knows how to help a client make better decisions, set the best goals, and restructure their professional and personal goals and actions for maximum productivity.  The client develops new skills; these skills translate into more success.

How is Coaching Different from Consulting? Therapy?  Sports Coaching?  A  Best Friend?

Consulting: Coaching is rather like consulting, however, the coach stays with the client to help implement the new skills, changes and goals to make sure they really happen.

Therapy:  Coaching is not therapy.  Coaches are not interested in asking the question "WHY?" Coaches don't work on "issues" or get into the past or deal much with understanding human behavior.  Coaches identify the obstacles that get in the way of success, and design strategies & a plan to achieve the goal.

Sports Coaching:  Coaching involves several principles from sports coaching, like teamwork, going for the goal, being your best.  Coaches focus on strengthening their clients' skills, not on helping them beat the other team.  Coaches look for win/win solutions.

Best Friend:  A best friend is wonderful to have.  But is your best friend agenda-free and trained to listen to the things that aren't spoken?  A coachs' sole purpose is to bring out your best -- there is no self interest other than your success.  There's an objectivity and confidentiality with a Coach that might not always exist with a friend.  Have both -- a best friend & a coach!
